It’s easy to get in and out of a property you don’t much care for, but how much time is “too much time” for a home you do like without being considered rude?
According to some real estate professionals, 15 to 30 minutes is an acceptable amount of time for a first showing. Of course, if the property is huge and has multiple structures included, taking a bit more time is OK. Just remember, you’ll likely be going back for a second visit anyway, so keep in mind the seller may be anxiously waiting to get back into their home to take care of all the routine things that need to be done on a daily basis.
Along the same idea is avoid too many visits. Unless you are seriously considering that home and planning to make an offer, more than three visits is an inconvenience. Keep in mind you will have access to the home again with inspections, and in most cases, a final walk-through before closing.
